How to choose a mobility scooter during your Hawaiian vacation.
Mobility scooters have become a convenience for many people who have endurance and mobility issues including shortness of breath. Whether you want to stay in your resort area or travel around Oahu, a mobility scooter will allow you to do more and see more. Customers often ask “which scooter is the best for me?” Mobility scooters have different weight capacities and features especially how they are transported. A few quick questions and we’ll know what’s right for you. If you aren’t sure, we’ll bring a couple different kinds so you can see and try them to determine which model is the best for you. Sometimes a power or motorized wheelchair is a better option.
Transporting a mobility scooter
Do you want to be able to take your scooter with you in a rental car, plane or on a cruise ship? A micro-portable scooter is best to transport but sometimes too small if you are tall or a bigger person. For simplicity, there are generally 3 classes of scooters; micro-portable, take apart; mid-sized and heavy duty or deluxe. The weight capacities are 300 and 350 lbs.
Our most popular portable, take-apart scooter comes apart in about 30 seconds. It can fit into the trunk of any car easily.
Mid-sized and deluxe, heavy duty scooters are perfect for taller and larger people and have longer batteries ranges.
Choosing the right scooter is not overly complicated, it’s a simple matter of matching the best combination of features and function for your intended use.
