About UGo Mobility Wheelchair and Mobility Scooter Rentals

UGo Mobility was built on Hugh's commitment to make a difference in the lives of people with mobility issues

"My Mother Made Me Do It"

UGo Mobility was built on Hugh’s commitment to make a difference in the lives of individuals with mobility issues. He was inspired through his experience with his active and vibrant mother, Linda, who lost her leg in her 40’s.
Hugh has first hand knowledge of how having a power wheelchair, mobility scooter, or the proper medical equipment, can change the quality of someone’s life. It was Linda’s power wheelchair that gave her the freedom and independence she needed to continue to live every day to the fullest.
Hugh’s Dad, Bill used to say, “We’re all living longer, but our parts still wear out.” After his double hip replacement and knee surgery, this proud Navy engineer decided to use a scooter to keep up with his wife, Linda. What a joy to see them scooting around together experiencing what life has to offer.

Hugh’s emotional connection to UGo Mobility has only grown deeper over the years due to the direct positive impact he has had in helping so many people, and families, with mobility issues. Our goal is to inform, inspire and empower our customers to do & see more, and we take that goal very seriously.

Don’t be surprised if every so often you see Hugh looking up with a smile on his face & a sparkle in his eyes. It’s just him thinking,
“Hey Mom, LOOK! We’re Doing it ❣️”

Hugh Talty, Hawaiian Happiness Officer

It’s our mission at UGo Mobility to Inform vacationers coming to Hawaii with family or friends with mobility or endurance issues of the mobility scooter rental and wheelchair rental options to get the most out of their Oahu, Hawaii vacation experience.

Then to Inspire our guests by showing them what is possible. Whether your goal is to visit Pearl Harbor Memorial and Waimea Falls at Waimea Valley on your micro portable mobility scooter rental to explore the Botanical Gardens or to try the Dole Whip soft serve at Dole Plantation then off to the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet with a wheelchair rental, we want to help.
There are also so many breathtaking places to go that are free. some of them are Pali Lookout, Ko’Olina’s Resorts 4 Lagoon trail at sunset or even to lead the pack up the top of Makapu’u lighthouse trail on your midsize portable mobility scooter rental and much much more. It’s all possible with the right mobility equipment. Most people don’t even realize that the Honolulu Recreation Department graciously puts rubber mats in strategic locations around the island at beaches like Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach park and more that allow people with mobility scooters, power wheelchairs and standard wheelchairs to go right down to the water. They even have a handy handicap accessible beach access map on their website. Whether you’re renting a car or not, there are ways to get around. Oahu, Hawaii has one of the best bus systems in the United states. “The Bus” Takes 2 Mobility Scooters or wheelchairs on every bus. They have a convenient ramp that comes out so you can just ride right on. It’s very inexpensive and can get you around Waikiki out all over Honolulu and out to Ko’Olina. It will even take you all the way to Haleiwa on the North Shore. It will take you longer than a car but it’s cheap and available for everyone.

Then we strive to Empower all of our guests by not only providing them with the proper mobility equipment but supporting them throughout their Oahu, Hawaii vacation! Our guests are truly treated as Ohana (family).  We truly understand that this is a bucket list trip for many of our guests. The memories created during this time will be shared by multiple generations, with grandkids and loved ones looking back on these cherished times. So we take what we do with pride that we can be a positive beacon especially during trying times.

We are blessed with a staff of amazing people who don’t just do their job but care about the well-being of our clients, and that is no marketing gimmick. All you have to do is read about past customer stories on Google Reviews or our Testimonials and “Wall of love”
